"I first met Steve Lincoln over two years ago when I asked him to be my sound and lighting technician for a script-in-hand fundraiser. The show went really well with him at the tech helm, and I then employed him to run the tech for the same show’s one-month run at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  Although Steve had done tech on other Edinburgh Fringe shows, this one was a baptism of fire due to the shockingly poor state of the venue.  Power outages meant he was forced to repeatedly upload his sound and lighting cues, and yet somehow, he kept his cool when anyone else would have walked away.

Despite the provocations of the ill-prepared crew running the venue, Steve showed tremendous loyalty in accompanying me to a meeting with them. It was something he really didn’t have to do but chose to, and it was typically kind of him. Then, despite the problems, the show came together as Steve worked his magic with the wholly inadequate equipment, and it was a great success.

It wasn’t the best start to a working relationship, but Steve’s tremendous integrity shone through.  I have recently written a tech-heavy show, ‘Out of The Blue’  influenced by the knowledge that I have his solid support.
